Letterpress


I went in the letterpress room today with my friend John and it was amazing. Manchester Metropolitan is one of only 3 universities in the country with a real working 'old-school' one he tells me. Everything is so worn in, old and heavy, its brilliant. I created my new headers and started my valentines booklet...

Bob Dylan



Dylan for me is the ultimate icon; he's not everyones 'cup o' tea' but it can't be argued that he well and truly does his own thing despite who's toes he treads on. Additionally, if you like him you're in luck because he's made about 5,000,000 albums (of varying qualities) so if nothing else, he certainly is prolific. Fight the man Bob...





The picture above is one I have in a book by Richard Avedon that's amazing. This is one of my favourite Dylan pictures, I was reminded when I saw it on my friends blog. The blogs called Acorn Design. Nice chap. Have a look...

Assistant Work


































This is my second piece of assistant work with photographer Jason Lock. Kind enough to offer me some more work, Jason was shooting for sports supplement company MyProtein. The series includes various athletes from different sports, such as the powerlifter here. A great insight for me into the technical side of a photoshoot including lighting techniques, camera and backdrop setup and client and subject 'management'.
